The candidates are now asked to create two prototypes of their project, which will be presented in July 2008 to the final jury for selection of the winners of the Prix Emile Hermès.
Each candidate is allowed a budget of €5,000 maximum for this process (reimbursement provided upon presentation of receipts).
These prototypes need not necessarily be functional, but must be produced full-scale and with the greatest attention to detail and material.
All the end of the final selection:
All the candidates will receive a Hermès object emblematic of the House and the time period of Émile Hermès.
Three prizes will be awarded* by the final jury:

At the end of the final selection process, the prototypes produced by candidates selected in the first round will be exhibited throughout Europe and Hermès will publish a catalogue of this exhibition. In partnership with the prize sponsors, Hermès will assure the promotion of the contest with high-impact publicity communications in the European press (specialised and general media).
