Article 13. – Presentation and exhibition of the selected protypes

Entries for the Prix Émile Hermès will feature in a virtual exhibition on the Prix Émile Hermès website, at no cost to the participants. The designs will feature in a group presentation designed to reflect the theme of the Prix Émile Hermès 2011. A catalogue of the exhibition will be also published.

The winners agree to collaborate pro bono with the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, to design and develop the online exhibition and the catalogue content as required (interviews etc.).

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès reserves the right to present the prototypes of the selected designs in a touring exhibition, and at events devoted to the Prix Émile Hermès.

Article 14. – Guarantee of anonymity

The jury will assess each entry anonymously. The uploaded dossiers will be handled, checked and validated by persons other than the members of the jury. Any distinctive identifying mark on a submitted entry will result in immediate disqualification. These conditions apply to the initial design dossier, and the prototypes submitted for the second round of the competition.

Article 15. – Responsibilities and duties

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès accepts no liability for the postponement, modification or cancellation of the Prix Émile Hermès, for reasons beyond its will or control. It cannot accept responsibility for any events or cases of force majeur liable to result in difficulties or failure to access the website www.prixemilehermes.com. The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès guarantees to transport, handle and display the prototypes with the utmost care, to avoid damage. The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès further declines all responsibility for any damage incurred by the prototypes during their display. The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès will take out appropriate insurance to cover any damage caused to the prototypes during preparations for their exhibition online, and their physical display. These reparations should not exceed 5,000 euros, representing the total maximum amount committed by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès to the protoype production costs of each selected finalist.

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès cannot be liable or responsible for any damage whatsoever to all or part of any participant's computer during the online registration process, or the uploading of documents for participation in the Prix Émile Hermès.

Participation in the Prix Émile Hermès requires an Internet connection. The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès declines all responsibility for Internet dysfunction, bugs, viruses or the unauthorised intervention of a third party, liable to compromise the proper progress of the Prix Émile Hermès.

Article 16. – Intellectual property

The participants' designs are subject to French intellectual and industrial property law, and in particular to the provisions of the Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle.

Each participant retains ownership of his or her design, and all rights relative to it. Participants should take appropriate measures to protect their work as effectively as possible, notably by providing valid proofs of the date of creation, and by the registering of industrial patents or registered models, where appropriate. In this context, the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès declines all responsibility in the event of any prejudice to the participant due to inadequate, irregular or invalid protection of their design.

All candidates selected after the first round of the Prix Émile Hermès :

accept that both of their prototypes will be presented on the website of the Fondation d'Entreprise Hermès, and kept at the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, should the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès wish to organize exhibitions or events around the world presenting the best designs submitted for the Prix Émile Hermès, even if the said event(s) extend beyond December 31, 2011.

guarantee that neither prototype will be exploited commercially by a third party while they are being exhibited internationally by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, as stipulated in the present terms and conditions.

accept that they will, after making the prototypes, graciously and expressly cede to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès – in the context of its internal and external communications, throughout the world and for a period of time equal to the duration of the legal protection of their copyright – all intellectual property rights (reproduction, publication and adaptation) relative to the prototypes (i) with a view to a worldwide exhibition presenting the best entries for the Prix Émile Hermès, in any settings freely chosen by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès and (ii) across all written, audiovisual, and/or multimedia supports, notably the magazine Le Monde d'Hermès, the annual report of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, press communiqués, the website of the Prix Émile Hermès at www.prixemilehermes.com, the website www.fondationdentreprisehermes.org, and the Intranet site 'Toile H'.

guarantee to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès that the prototypes will in no way prejudice, in whole or in part, the rights of third parties.

expressly authorise the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès to use their name and picture in relation to the use and exploitation of the rights mentioned above.

If an entry to the competition becomes the object of a commercial proposition from a third party, the designer must first inform the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, as soon as possible, by recorded delivery letter, detailing the terms of the offer.

In the event of any such commercial exploitation by a third party, the candidate guarantees to remove as necessary any item of intellectual property belonging to the Hermès Group (brands, logos, designs, models wholly or in part) that may have been used in his or her design. The same applies should the candidate wish to present his or her design on any other website or support.

Generally, and irrespective of whether or not the design has been selected for phase 2 of the competition by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, candidates may not use or make use of the names Fondation d'entreprise Hermès and/or Hermès, and/or the brands of the Hermès Group, and/or the logo of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, and/or the companies of the Hermès Group with regard to any third party, by any means of communication – written, verbal or other – on any supports and notably on internal websites, without express, written, advance permission from the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès.

Article 17. – Permission to publish and communicate

By participating in the Prix Émile Hermès, all candidates agree that their design will be the subject of internal and external communications by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, and external communications relating to the Prix Émile Hermès, the theme of the design, and/or the theme of the Prix Émile Hermès, across all supports. Participants authorize the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès to mention selected projects in communiqués, press articles, promotional documents or brochures, to exhibit them, and communicate them to third parties identified in the context of communications initiatives for the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, provided that their names are mentioned, for an unlimited period of time, and without thereby granting the participants the right to earnings or advantage of any kind as a result of such communications, other than the eventual prize and prize money. These conditions apply in particular to catalogues published in the event of any form of exhibition of the entries, and/or the online exhibition at the website of the Prix Émile Hermès. To this end, the organizer is authorized to make graphic or photographic images of the selected and winning objects and their designers, provided that their names and titles are mentioned.

Article 18. – Data protection/freedom of information

All nominative information collected in the context of the present Prix Émile Hermès will be treated in accordance with the law of 6 January 1978 relative to computer data, files, their protection and the freedom of information, in its consolidated version dated June 30, 2010, as modified notably by the law of 6 August 2004. By the terms of this law, all participants in the Prix Émile Hermès have the right to oppose the use of their personal data, and access to their personal data for the purposes of the rectification or suppression of their personal details. Requests for access, rectification, opposition or suppression must be made in writing, to the following address : Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008, Paris, France.

Article 19. – Rules and litigation

By taking part in the Prix Émile Hermès, candidates agree to accept the present terms and conditions, unreservedly and without restriction. Any challenge of any kind to the present rules of the Prix Émile Hermès will be decided finally and in the last resort by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, in the spirit of the present rules.

Candidates guarantee the authenticity and accuracy of all information provided to the organizer in the application of the present rules. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any candidate found to have provided inaccurate or false information.

The Prix Émile Hermès is subject to French law. The present terms and conditions have been registered with : Maître Hauguel, Huissier de Justice, SCP Hauguel Louail, 14 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris 75008.

02. Competition rules (art. 7 à 12)

Article 7. – The jury's final selection

The jury will meet in July 2011 to examine the prototypes and select the three winning entries. The jury will meet, and the award will be presented, in Paris at the headquarters of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès.

Article 8. – Presentation of the awards

The awards will be presented to the winning designers.

The award ceremony will be held in Paris, organized by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, in October 2011.

The three finalists (and/or the winning team's representative) must guarantee to attend the ceremony in person.

The finalists' travel and accommodation arrangements (and/or those of the team representative, in the event of a winning group entry) will be organized and their expenses covered by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. Meals will be at the winner's own expense.

Article 9. – Calendar

Candidates may register online from September 15, 2010 to November 30, 2010 (midnight, Paris time). Inscriptions received after this date will not be considered for entry (date and time of registration as per the online module).

Completed design dossiers may be uploaded from December 1, 2010 to February 15, 2011 (midnight Paris time, date and time of registration as per the online module). Any entry received after this date will be disqualified.

The selected finalists will be notified in April 2011. Their prototypes must be dispatched to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès no later than June 30, 2011 (date as postmark).

The jury will meet to select the three winning entries in July 2011.

The award ceremony, and the launch of the online exhibition of entries, will take place in October 2011.

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès reserves the right to alter the dates of the jury meetings and award ceremony ; changes to these dates do not affect the final dates for the submission of designs and prototypes.

Article 10. – The jury

The jury of professionals from the worlds of design and engineering will meet in two stages :

At their first meeting in March 2011, the jury will select the finalists invited to submit prototypes for the final stages of the Prix Émile Hermès 2011.

At their second meeting, in July 2011, the jury will study the prototypes and designate the three winning entries.

The members of the jury will be appointed by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. The jury will consist of the president of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, members of the Foundation's board with links to the world of design, and distinguished professionals (designers, engineers, design critics and design historians).

The jury's decision is binding and final. The jury will not provide feedback on its decision, and may not necessarily select the pre-determined number of finalists, nor award all three prizes. The jury's decision is not open to appeal. The jury reserves the right to award any prize or special mention to any entry selected to that end.

Article 11. – Amount of the awards

Each selected finalist will receive funding from the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès for the production of two prototypes, according to the terms and conditions outlined in article 64.3.

The three finalists will receive a total of 90,000 euros to be divided as follows :

First prize : 50,000 euros
Second prize : 25,000 euros
Third prize : 15,000 euros

The prizes will be presented to the winners at an official ceremony to be held in Paris in October 2011. The winners guarantee to be present at the ceremony.

In the event of a winning group entry, the prize money will be distributed equally between each of the participants named on the entry form.

Article 12. – Selection criteria

Dossiers failing to conform to the present rules will not be considered.

The jury will examine the entries and assess the designs according to the following criteria :

quality of presentation (clarity, detail, thoroughness)
compliance with the competition's theme and specifications
creativity, originality, innovation, aesthetic quality

In addition to these criteria, the jury's final selection will take account of the quality of execution of the submitted prototypes.

Article 1. – The competition organizer

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, created in April 2008 and headquartered at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris (75008) is the organizer of an international competition opening on September 15, 2010 – the Prix Émile Hermès – rewarding designs for innovative everyday objects on the theme « Heat, me-heat, re-heat ».

Article 2. – Terms and conditions of entry

The Prix Émile Hermès is open to individual competitors or groups of competitors (excluding corporations), aged 40 years or less on November 30, 2010, in the following categories :

graduate professionals from schools of design, engineering, architecture, the visual or applied arts ;
non-graduate design professionals with at least three years' proven experience ;
final-year masters students at graduate schools of design, engineering, architecture, the visual or applied arts.

Entries are invited from individual designers or teams of up to five people.

Maximum one entry per candidate or team.

Individual and team candidates may submit one entry only. All multiple entries will be subject to immediate disqualification.

Candidates must guarantee that their entry is entirely their own work, and that the design has not previously been entered for the Prix Émile Hermès. Entries will consist of original new designs, unmatched on the current design market, or in the history of design, to the best of the candidate's knowledge.

The competition is not open to employees of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, or any other part of its parent organisation the Hermès Group, or any person or group currently under contract to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès or the Hermès Group.

Article 3. – Registering for the Prix Émile Hermès

The competition is open for registration online from September 15 to November 30, 2010, exclusively via the Web site www.prixemilehermes.com

Each participant is required to complete and submit the entry form to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, together with the following documents (scanned and uploaded on the Web site of the Prix Émile Hermès) :

1 photocopy of the candidate's ID card or passport
1 personal information form (using the form available on the Web site of the Prix Émile Hermès)
1 proof of address
1 CV in English
1 photocopy of the candidate's student card (for final-year masters students at schools of design, engineering, architecture, or the visual or applied arts), or written confirmation from their school or college.

Each entry will receive a registration number sent by e-mail to the candidate's given e-mail address. The number will serve as the candidate's personal identification number throughout the duration of the Prix Émile Hermès, guaranteeing the anonymity of all entrants. The registration number is essential for participation in the Prix Émile Hermès. If lost, entrants must contact the competition organizers. Group entries must nominate a team leader. The team will be given a single registration number. In the event of a winning group entry, all members of the group will be listed as winners, in alphabetical order.

Article 4. – Uploading designs

After registering to enter the competition online at www.prixemilehermes.com, each entrant must upload their design by midnight (Paris time) on February 15, 2011, at the Prix Émile Hermès Web site. All candidates must submit a dossier containing :

2 sheets presenting the design in .pdf format (maximum 4Mo octets, A3). Sheet 1 to explain the design's overall concept, sheet 2 to describe the design in further detail (views, production process, materials, colours...).

Candidates may also submit an optional short video (maximum 1 min. 30) explaining their design further, in the following formats : mpg, mov, flv, avi (maximum weight 10Mo octets)

Each entry must also provide :

Three A3 sheets describing three earlier designs by the entrant or team, in .pdf format (maximum 2Mo octets). In the case of professional designers, these designs must have been exhibited or produced. In the case of team entries, the designs must be the work of all members of the team.

All texts contained within the dossier must be presented in English.

All documents must feature the entrant's registration number, lower right.

Article 5. – Initial assessment of entries by the competition jury

After the closing date for the uploading of entries, the jury will meet to select those candidates who will be invited to produce prototypes based on their designs.

Following the jury's initial deliberations, the selected candidates will be notified by the publication of a shortlist on the website of the Prix Émile Hermès, and directly by e-mail.

Article 6. – Production of prototypes

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès guarantees to meet the protoype production costs for all selected finalists, based on the presentation of receipts to a maximum of 5,000 euros incl. VAT. All costs incurred beyond that amount will be paid exclusively by the finalists.

In accordance with the timeframe stipulated in Article 9.5, two prototypes will be produced and dispatched to the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, identified solely by their registration number.

Prototypes deposited with the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès must conform to their initial designs as submitted for the competition.

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès will not cover the production costs of prototypes not submitted in accordance with the present terms and conditions.

03. Règlement (art. 13 à 19)

Article 13. — Présentation et exposition des prototypes sélectionnés

Le Prix Émile Hermès donnera lieu à une présentation virtuelle sur le site du Prix Émile Hermès des projets sélectionnés et ce, sans qu'aucune participation aux frais ne soit demandée aux participants. Les projets présentés seront intégrés dans une « scénographie » d'ensemble élaborée autour de la thématique du Prix Émile Hermès. Un catalogue sera édité.

Les lauréats s'engagent, à titre gracieux, à se mettre à la disposition de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès afin de participer à l'élaboration de la présentation virtuelle et si nécessaire à l'élaboration du catalogue (interview…).

Par ailleurs, la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès se réserve la possibilité de présenter les prototypes des projets sélectionnés lors d'une exposition itinérante ainsi que lors d'événements consacrés au Prix Émile Hermès.

Article 14. — Respect de l'anonymat

Le jury n'aura connaissance que de propositions anonymes. Les dossiers informatiques seront traités par des personnes différentes des membres du jury qui seront chargées de contrôler la validité des candidatures. Toute marque distinctive apparaissant sur la présentation d'un projet au jury est susceptible de causer la disqualification de la candidature. Ces conditions sont valables aussi bien pour la présentation du projet sur dossier que pour l'envoi des prototypes.

Article 15. — Responsabilités

La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ne saurait être responsable de reports, modification ou annulation du Prix Émile Hermès qui interviendraient pour des raisons indépendantes de sa volonté. Elle ne pourra être responsable de tout événement ou cas de force majeure susceptibles d'entraîner des difficultés ou impossibilité d'accès au site www.prixemilehermes.com. En cas de présentation des prototypes, la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès s'engage à apporter tous ses soins afin que les transports et les conditions d'exposition ne les endommagent pas. La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès souscrira une assurance pour couvrir les éventuels dommages causés aux prototypes dès leur remise à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. En toute hypothèse la réparation ne saurait excéder 5000€ TTC, qui représente la somme maximale prise en charge par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès au titre de la réalisation des prototypes des candidatures sélectionnés.

La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ne pourra être tenue pour responsable des dommages éventuels, de quelque nature qu'ils soient, qui pourraient affecter tout ou partie de l'ordinateur des participants tant lors de leur inscription qu'au cours du dépôt des projets pour prendre part au concours Prix Émile Hermès.

La participation au concours Prix Émile Hermès étant conditionnée par la connexion au réseau Internet, la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès dégage toute responsabilité en cas de dysfonctionnement du réseau Internet, bug, ou virus, ou intervention d'un tiers non autorisé empêchant le bon déroulement du concours Prix Émile Hermès.

Article 16. — Droit de la propriété intellectuelle

Les projets des participants sont soumis à la législation française relative aux droits de la propriété intellectuelle et industrielle et notamment aux dispositions du Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle.

Chaque participant demeure propriétaire de son projet et donc des droits y afférents. Il lui appartient de protéger au mieux sa création, notamment par tout moyent de preuve de date de création et, le cas échéant, en déposant tout titre de propriété industrielle tel qu'un brevet ou un modèle. À ce titre, la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès décline toute responsabilité en cas de préjudice causé au participant du fait d'une protection insuffisante, irrégulière ou non valable.

Toute candidature sélectionnée à l'issue de la première sélection accepte, de par sa participation au Prix Émile Hermès :

que ses deux prototypes soient présentés sur le site du Prix Émile Hermès : www.prixemilehermes.com, et conservés à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès au cas où la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès organiserait des expositions ou événements à travers le monde présentant les meilleurs projets du Prix Émile Hermès et ce, même si cet événement doit se prolonger au-delà du 31 décembre 2011 ;

que ses deux prototypes ne fassent pas l'objet d'une exploitation commerciale par un tiers tant qu'ils sont exposés à travers le monde par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, comme prévu dans le présent règlement ;

de concéder à l'issue de la réalisation des prototypes, expressément et gracieusement, à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, dans le cadre de sa communication interne et/ou externe, pour le monde entier et pour une durée égale à la durée de protection légale des droits d'auteurs, les droits de propriété intellectuelle (droits de reproduction, de représentation et d'adaptation) attachés aux prototypes (I) en vue d'une exposition à travers le monde présentant les meilleurs projets du Prix Émile Hermès, dans tous lieux librement choisis par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès et, (II) sur tous supports écrits, audiovisuels, et/ou multimédia, notamment le magazine « Le Monde d'Hermès », le rapport annuel de Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, les dossiers de presse, le site du Prix Émile Hermès www.prixemilehermes.com, le site Internet « www.fondationdentreprisehermes.org », et le site Intranet « Toile H » ;

de garantir à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès que les prototypes ne sont pas de nature à porter atteinte en totalité ou en partie aux droits des tiers ;

d'autoriser expressément la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès à utiliser le nom et l'image des participants, en relation avec l'utilisation et l'exploitation des droits ci-dessus mentionnés.

Si une candidature reçoit une proposition de commercialisation de son projet émanant d'un tiers, l'intéressé s'engage à en informer préalablement la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès dans les plus brefs délais, par l'envoi d'une lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception, lui précisant les termes de cette offre.

Plus généralement, que le projet du candidat soit sélectionné ou non par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, le candidat ne pourra, sans l'autorisation écrite et préalable de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, utiliser ou faire usage du nom de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès et/ou d'Hermès, et/ou des marques du Groupe Hermès, et/ou du logo de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès et/ou des sociétés du Groupe Hermès, auprès de tout tiers, selon tous modes de communication, écrite, verbale ou autre, sur tout support et notamment sur des sites internes.

Article 17. — Autorisation de diffusion

Tout candidat accepte, de par sa participation au Prix Émile Hermès, que son projet puisse faire l'objet d'une communication interne et externe de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, autour du Prix Émile Hermès, du thème du design, et/ou de la thématique du Prix Émile Hermès et ce, quel qu'en soit le support. Les participants autorisent ainsi la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès à mentionner les projets sélectionnés dans des communiqués, articles de presse, documents promotionnels ou brochures, à les exposer, à les transmettre à des tiers identifiés dans le cadre d'actions de communication pour le compte de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, sous réserve de mentionner leurs noms et ce, sans limitation de durée et sans que cela leur confère un droit à une rémunération ou à un avantage autre que le prix qui leur sera éventuellement décerné. Ces conditions sont valables en particulier pour le catalogue édité à l'occasion d'une exposition, quelle qu'elle soit, et de la présentation en ligne sur le site du Prix Émile Hermès. À ces fins, l'organisateur pourra réaliser toute copie, représentation graphique ou photographie des projets sélectionnés et primés, ainsi que de leurs auteurs, sous réserve de mentionner leur nom et qualité.

Article 18. — Informatique et libertés

Les informations nominatives recueillies dans le cadre du présent Prix Émile Hermès sont traitées conformément à la loi du 6 janvier 1978 relative à l'informatique, aux fichiers et aux libertés, dans sa version consolidée au 30 juin 2010. Tous les participants au Prix Émile Hermès disposent d'après cette loi d'un droit d'opposition au traitement de leurs données à caractère personnel ainsi que d'un droit d'accès, de rectification et de suppression de données les concernant. Toute demande d'accès, de rectification, d'opposition ou de suppression doit être adressée par courrier à l'adresse suivante : Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, 24, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris FRANCE.

Article 19. — Règlement et litiges

La participation au Prix Émile Hermès implique l'acceptation sans réserve ni restriction du présent règlement. Toute contestation quelle que soit sa nature, relative au présent règlement ou au Prix Émile Hermès sera tranchée souverainement et en dernier ressort par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès dans le respect de l'esprit du présent règlement.

Les candidats attestent sur l'honneur de l'authenticité et de la véracité des informations qu'ils communiquent à l'organisateur en application du présent règlement. Les organisateurs se réservent la possibilité d'éliminer toute candidature qui comporterait des indications mensongères ou inexactes.

Le Prix Émile Hermès est soumis au droit français. Ce règlement a été déposé auprès de : Maître Hauguel, huissier de justice, SCP Hauguel Louail, 14 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré 75008 Paris.

Article 7. — Sélection finale du jury

Le jury se réunira en juillet 2011 pour sélectionner sur examen des prototypes, les 3 lauréats du Prix Émile Hermès. Les délibérations du jury se dérouleront à Paris, siège de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès.

Article 8. — Remise des prix aux lauréats

La remise des prix aux 3 lauréats se tiendra à Paris, lors d'une cérémonie organisée par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, en octobre 2011.

Les lauréats s'engagent à être présents à ladite cérémonie.

Les frais afférents au déplacement et à l'hébergement des 3 lauréats (ou du participant référent dans le cas d'une candidature collective) pour la remise des prix seront pris en charge et organisés par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. Les repas seront à la charge des lauréats.

Article 9. — Calendrier

Les inscriptions se dérouleront du 15 septembre 2010 au 30 novembre 2010 (à minuit heure de Paris), date limite d'enregistrement des inscriptions. Toute inscription déposée après cette date ne sera pas prise en compte (date et heure d'inscription sur le module faisant foi).

Le dépôt de dossier de candidature comprenant le projet se déroulera du 1er décembre 2010 au 15 février 2011 (minuit heure de Paris, date et heure de téléchargement faisant foi). Tout dossier déposé après cette date ne sera pas pris en compte.

La communication aux candidatures sélectionnées s'effectuera en avril 2011. Leurs prototypes devront être envoyés à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès au plus tard le 30 juin 2011 inclus (le cachet de la poste ou du transporteur faisant foi).

La réunion du jury pour la sélection finale des lauréats aura lieu en juillet 2011.

La remise des prix aux lauréats à Paris et le lancement de l'exposition en ligne aura lieu à partir d'octobre 2011.

Les dates de réunion des jurys et de remise des prix pourront être modifiées à la discrétion de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès sans pour autant entraîner le report ou l'avancement des échéances pour l'envoi des dossiers puis des prototypes.

Article 10. — Le jury

Le jury, composé de professionnels issus du domaine professionnel du design et de l'ingénierie, se réunira en deux étapes :

une première fois, en mars 2011, afin de déterminer les candidats qui soumettront deux prototypes de leur projet dans le cadre du Prix Émile Hermès, puis

une deuxième fois, en juillet 2011, afin d'étudier les prototypes et de délibérer des lauréats qui se verront remettre les prix.

Les membres du jury seront désignés par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. Il est constitué du Président de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, de membres du Conseil d'Administration liés au domaine du design et de spécialistes (designer, ingénieur, critique et historien de design) reconnus dans leurs domaines.

Le jury est souverain. Il n'a pas d'obligation de justifier ses décisions et il est libre de ne pas attribuer l'ensemble des prix si nécessaire. Les décisions ne sont pas susceptibles de recours. Le jury se réserve par ailleurs la faculté de décerner tout prix ou mention spéciale à tout projet qu'il aura sélectionné à cette fin.

Article 11. — Dotations

Chaque candidature sélectionnée verra l'élaboration de 2 prototypes de son projet financée par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, dans les conditions prévues par l'article 6.

Les 3 lauréats recevront une dotation totale de 90 000 € répartie comme suit :

Premier prix : 50 000 €

Deuxième prix : 25 000 €

Troisième prix : 15 000 €

En cas de candidature comportant plusieurs participants, le montant de la récompense sera divisé par le nombre de participants inscrits sur la candidature. Ainsi chacun d'eux se verra remettre une somme d'un montant identique.

Article 12. — Critères de sélection

Les dossiers ne respectant pas les conditions requises par le présent règlement ne seront pas pris en compte.

Le jury examinera les dossiers et évaluera les projets selon les critères suivants :

Qualité de présentation (clarté et rigueur)

Fidélité à la thématique proposée et au cahier des charges

Créativité, originalité, innovation, esthétique.

En plus de ces critères, le jury final tiendra compte de la qualité d'exécution des prototypes pour la sélection finale.

01. Règlement (art. 1 à 6)

Article 1. — Organisateur

La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, créée en avril 2008 et dont le siège est situé au 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré à Paris (75008), organise à compter du 15 septembre 2010, un concours international, le « Prix Émile Hermès », récompensant la création d'objets innovants, et ayant pour thème : « Chauffer, se chauffer, réchauffer », appliquée aux objets usuels.

Article 2. — Conditions de participation

Le Prix Émile Hermès est ouvert à toute personne physique à l'exclusion de toute personne morale, âgée de moins de 40 ans au 30 novembre 2010 et appartenant à l'une des catégories suivantes :

designers professionnels, diplômés d'une école de design, d'ingénieurs, d'architecture, d'arts plastiques ou d'arts appliqués ;
designers ou ingénieurs professionnels, non diplômés, disposant d'un minimum de trois ans d'expérience justifiés dans l'univers du design ;
étudiants en dernière année de Master d'école de design, d'ingénieurs, d'architecture, d'arts plastiques ou d'arts appliqués.

Les participants peuvent participer seuls ou en équipe (effectif maximal : 5 personnes).

Chaque participant ne peut adresser qu'une seule candidature.

Le cumul par un participant de plusieurs candidatures (individuelles ou collectives) n'est pas autorisé. En cas de cumul de plusieurs candidatures, aucune d'entre elles ne sera prise en compte.

Les participants déclarent être les seuls auteurs de leur projet, lequel sera présenté pour la première fois dans le cadre du Prix Émile Hermès. Les projets devront constituer une création originale n'ayant pas, à la connaissance des participants, d'existence sur le marché ou dans l'histoire du design.

Aucune personne employée par la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ou toute entité du groupe Hermès auquel appartiennent les sociétés fondatrices de la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ou participant à quelque titre que ce soit à l'exécution d'un contrat passé avec la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ou le groupe Hermès n'est autorisée à concourir.

Article 3. — Modalités d'inscription au Prix Émile Hermès

L'inscription au Prix Émile Hermès s'effectue du 15 septembre au 30 novembre 2010, exclusivement par Internet sur le site suivant : www.prixemilehermes.com

Il est demandé à chacun des participants de remplir la fiche d'inscription incluant les documents suivants :

1 photocopie de sa carte d'identité ou de son passeport,
1 justificatif de domicile,
1 curriculum vitae en anglais,
1 photocopie de la carte d'étudiant pour les candidats en dernière année de Master d'école de design, d'ingénieurs, d'architecture, d'arts plastiques ou d'arts appliqués ou une attestation de l'établissement d'enseignement.

Chaque candidature se verra alors directement attribuer un numéro d'inscription envoyé à l'adresse email communiquée par le candidat. Ce numéro servira à identifier la candidature tout au long du Prix Émile Hermès en préservant les conditions d'anonymat. Ce numéro étant nécessaire pour la participation au Prix Émile Hermès, il devra être réclamé aux organisateurs en cas de perte. Pour toute candidature impliquant plusieurs participants, un chef d'équipe sera désigné. Un numéro d'inscription unique sera attribué à l'ensemble de l'équipe. En cas de projet primé, les noms des différents participants d'une même équipe seront cités dans le palmarès par ordre alphabétique.

Article 4. — Modalités de dépôt des dossiers

Après s'être inscrit pour participer (en ligne sur www.prixemilehermes.com), chaque participant déposera (module de téléchargement) avant le 15 février 2011 minuit (heure de Paris), sur le site du Prix Émile Hermès, un dossier de candidature comprenant les éléments suivants :

2 planches de présentation du projet au format PDF (poids maximum 4Mo et cadré en A3), la première explicitant le concept global, la deuxième étant plus descriptive (plan coté, réalisation, matières, couleurs…).

Il a également la possibilité d'y ajouter, pour rendre plus explicite son projet, une vidéo durant 1 minute 30 maximum, au format MPG, MOV, FLV ou AVI d'un poids maximum de 10Mo (facultatif).

3 planches format A3 décrivant 3 projets réalisés antérieurement par le participant, en format PDF (poids maximum de 2Mo octets). Pour les designers professionnels, ces projets doivent avoir été exposés ou avoir donné lieu à une production. Dans le cas des candidatures collectives, ces projets doivent avoir été réalisés collectivement par l'ensemble des participants.

Chaque élément de texte du dossier devra être rédigé en anglais.

Le numéro d'inscription (Cf. article 3) doit figurer sur tout document, en bas à droite.

Article 5. — Examen des dossiers de candidatures et première délibération du jury

À l'issue du dépôt des projets, le jury se réunira afin de sélectionner les candidats auxquels il sera demandé de réaliser les prototypes correspondant aux projets déposés et sélectionnés.

À l'issue de la première délibération du jury, les candidatures sélectionnées seront informées de leur nomination par une publication sur le site Internet du Prix Émile Hermès et par un email qui leur sera directement adressé.

Article 6. — Réalisation des prototypes

La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès s'engage à prendre en charge, pour chaque candidature sélectionnée, les frais de réalisation de deux prototypes de son projet sur présentation de justificatifs et ce pour un montant global maximum de 5 000 € TTC. Tous les frais engagés au-delà de ce montant pour la réalisation des prototypes demeurent à la charge exclusive des participants.

Dans le respect du calendrier prévu à l'article 9, les deux prototypes réalisés seront adressés à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès avec pour seule identification la mention du numéro d'inscription de la candidature.

Les prototypes remis à la Fondation d'entreprise Hermès devront être conformes à ceux initialement présentés.

La Fondation d'entreprise Hermès ne prendra pas en charge le financement des prototypes pour les candidatures sélectionnées qui ne lui auront pas adressé lesdits prototypes dans les conditions du présent règlement.
